George Takei is an American actor, author, and activist. He is best known for his role as Hikaru Sulu, helmsman of the USS Enterprise in the television series Star Trek. Sally Ride (b. May 26, 1951, Los Angeles, CA–d. July 23, 2012, La Jolla, CA) was an American physicist and astronaut.
